Back to the good things.

Thunderstorms like the one we had last night / this morning.

The fact that even after so much rain the train still runs, on time. (The Glasgow low-level trains of my previous life nearly always were cancelled or severely delayed on very wet )

I bloody hate rain.

I know we need it, and you'd think I'd welcome it, but I don't. I hate the humidity, the grey skies and the only good thing about it is I don't have to water the garden for the next couple of days.

I love a bloody good thunderstorm.
I sit out on the terrace and enjoy it,thunder and lightning and all.
Also love the after affects, the fresher clearer air,the countryside greening up and looking so refreshed.
It's only when it drags on for days or weeks that it gets depressing, as in the UK quite often, and more occasionally in Spain.

We had ours last night which lasted about an hour , overhead the whole time , incredible noise and continuous sheet lightening with rain that was the worst I've ever encountered. In the middle of it I rushed out to take the drain cover off in the patio and shut my huge sun umbrella as yersterday was scorching. When I took a desperate dog out at 6.30 this morning the air was wonderful and so cool. To my amazement my patio and all the streets were bone dry as if it had never happened and now it's daylight the sky is bright blue with hardly a cloud in sight.

The Spanish in a tiny village like ours would die rather than sell to gypsies and probably kill anyone who did. I'm more worried about the English.

Do you mean English or British?

No being Scottish I've never considered myself as British or anyone else for that matter. I do have English friends and relations though.

You have not actually answered my question.

Well, the sun is out today, but the humidity levels yesterday and today make work of any kind unpleasant.

I was born in Scotland and at one time my passport stated that fact but then the powers that be decided we were all British which is meaningless as most foreigners ask you if you are English not British as they can't see the difference but the Scots ,Irish and Welsh know the difference as does the Cornishman, the Yorkshireman and the Geordie etc. The English were hell mad when we got our own parliament and didnt want us to represented at Westminster. The English want to be English and I can't argue with that. Variety is the spice of life.

British is an adjective for all people born in the British isles.

Personally I'm more than happy for the Scots to be a seperate as they like, and have a different time zone so we don't have to put up with their sunset and sunrise times.

Actually they can cut a trench across Hadrian's wall for all I care, and sail off somewhere else. I am pig sick of so many Scottish, Irish and Welsh always saying 'Anyone but the English' when asked who they are supporting. Now, whenever that scotch git plays tennis, my cry is 'Anyone but the Scot'.
