The Blevin Franks webinar on 14 October may also be of interest. Charmaine Arbouin, the British Consul for Andalusia and the Canary Islands, is always worth listening to. She has a somewhat different perspective, perhaps more nuanced and constructive, from that of the Madrid Embassy staff on some issues, for example the problems faced by "swallows"

Tomorrow (Tues 13th) Brits in Spain on FB (see above)DON'T FORGET...
Tomorrow at 13:00 (CET) we have a live Q&A with our healthcare team. If you have questions for them, you can post them in the comments under this post or join us live. Please don't post questions that do not relate to healthcare in Spain as they won't be able to answer them. If you can't make the session, it will be available to watch afterwards.

Oh dear! Just listened to the webinar, and even Charmaine seems much less optimistic than she was in July about the swallows' position if they apply for residency. Seems as though the days of "Residency and Tax residency are two different things" may be over. Looks like decision time looming.

Absolutely. If you want residency to avoid the 90 day rules you will have to accept tax residency.

Hi, Unfortunately, I missed the Blevin Franks webinar. Have they posted a recorded version like they do on the Facebook webinars?

I asked them that question and they said they would. No details yet though.

They have now:-
Interesting to compare Charmaine Arbouin's advice with what seemed to me her more optimistic view in July:-

Looks like they have now billed the "Swallows" webinar on 24 November and conflated it with the travel one on 27 October.
- 27 Oct: Travel and swallows
- 10 November: Education
- 1 December: Residency
- 10 December: General Q&A
