Default Leasing a car in Spain - possible?

Back when I lived in the UK although I bought most of my cars over the years, on a couple of occasions I leased them. Is this facility available with dealers here in Spain?
Searching websites has proved negative.
Thanks.

Thanks for that, much obliged. When I did a Google translate for the Spanish for leasing all I got was renting, so presumed that was the only option. Thanks again.

No you can lease, they have similar contract hire deals to the UK, I think its more dealer based than like in the UK where it is more agent based.

Before everything went tits up it was very easy to get a lease on a car without credit checks, not so sure now as not looked into it.

Id go and look at the main dealer web pages and / or ask at bank

Thanks for that. Asking at my bank seems a bit odd rather than just something between a dealer and myself. Sounds like straightforward finance to me!
Thanks again.

They all do leasing

You normally pay a deposit of maybe 25% of the purchase price - many times this can be your old car

Then you pay an amount per month e.g. 200 euros

Then usually after 3 years, you either make the final payment of around 1/3 to 1/2 the purchase price or you leave it with the dealer

If you look at a lot of the car adverts in Spain they say this such as "Your new Seat Leon for only 150 euros per month"

To the Spanish, leasing and rental are interchangeable terms, just the costs and lengt of contract will be different.

It's not strictly leasing as a lease doesn't give you an automatic purchase option.

In the UK these deals are called PCP - personal contract purchase. Some deals can include maintenance etc. Personally I think it is a more flexible deal than a straight lease and it is possible to re-finance the final payment if you decide to keep the car for another three years.

The deposit is often quite small and there are offers where the manufacturer will actually give you a contribution to the initial payment to make it even lower.

If you don't want to pay cash this is the way to go.

Which is pretty much how it is to the English as well - leasing is just a long term rental over a fixed period, with a more rigid contract. I don't think the Spanish use the terms interchangeably though - "leasing" is actually the word the Spanish use for leasing, while they use the word "alquiler" for renting, and they know the difference.
