Great advice, thanks everyone!
May wait a while then at least until after the main part of summer has been and gone!
Although have never been a patient person!

it was all laid on sand. we did the tee´s on los naranjos
laid all 2 million metres squared on valle romano
it needs a fair bit of water.
it comes in 1m2 rolls - 2 m long by 50 wide.
the company i used to work for (in coin) should deliver to marbella. they will even lay it for you too, depends if you want it doing or not.

You seem to know your stuff, yet your byline states you are looking for a job. Is there no chance of you setting up your own business in this area? I'm only asking the question - please no enraged posters shouting "The exchange rate/Spanish economy has hit us all, so there's no demand for anyone to lay turfs" - and indeed, it may be a small market even in the best of times.
i have thought about it stevie, and i can still get the turf at "trade", but as we can all see - the amount of people that are looking for work, and the current economic situation.. means that unfortunatly gardens are the last thing on peoples minds.
although i would enjoy undertaking such a project, i have the contacts, and i have the knowlage. i wonder if it might be worth it. im not sure how people would pay etc - when you take into account the day rate of myself, the transport, the cost of the turf, the hours there prepping, the irrigation set up.. you are looking at 2 hundred euros or so per delivery before you even start.
but yes, i see the point, it might be worth thinking about.

Try leveling up with soil & compost mix and sew grass seed

Or even sow, if you find difficulty in threading a needle, like me .
(I'll bet your lawn is better than mine).

Too much like hard work, give me Spanish grass anytime.
