The 28th is the equivalent of April fools day in Spain ...

Its just like a kids first day at school, you and they worry like hell, but soon everything falls into place and its soon overcome.
Relax and have a good time, if your daughter has a problem at college let us know, as our daughter is a hairdresser and she may be able to help.
The sun should be back out by then too. ;-))

I hope 2008 proves a fantastic year for both of you making the move. Indeed that sentiment goes to everyone on this forum.

Not much different to here then! Expce tits not that cold, about 17C today. But its very grey :( but hey its winter. You got 3 months of solid blue skies and sunshine to look forward to in the summer and the weather warming up from February onwards really. Its great :)

Best of luck when you get down here to the coast, and to happybunny as well. Its great down here :)

We moved over at the end of August this year. Believe me when I say we felt *exactly* like you do right now.

We found the last week in the UK really stressful - especially as I still had work engagements, we were selling our cars, saying goodbye to friends and family (most of whom were crying at this point), having to juggle hire cars, sort out the van (we moved ourselves), sort out the animals, etc, etc. A real emotional roller coaster. There were lots of loose ends to tie up - our house in the UK to clean, addresses to change, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. We made lists, and in the end we had lists of lists of lists!

The actual move itself was hard work (mainly because I did it all myself) but extremely rewarding. Our (then) five year old daughter and Jack Russell terrier pup came along in the van and a great time was had by all. I sent regular photos by MMS back to Mrs Twyntub who was flying with our two year old and the cat as we drove across Spain from Santander. Despite 'cutting down' - I gave up numbering the boxes going into the van at 146...

Within a week of moving here, the house was straight, the boxes had gone away, and we had started to get into a routine with normal life things (shopping, children, animals, etc). Then the kids started at school.

All in all, we've been too busy to be worried about what we left behind, and in being busy we've also met a whole new set of wonderful friends - not just Brits but Spaniards, Dutch, Belgians, Norwegians, etc very very quickly.

At no point do we look back and wonder why we did it, only how! And whilst some friends are really surprised that we're not coming 'back home' for Christmas, it's because we're already home here in Spain.

Good luck... you'll be fine!

Good luck with the moce i am sure you will be fine.

I seem to be the oppisite, i move out on the 16th of febuary and don't seem worried at all, but that is me i guess. Everyone deals with things differently. You wouldnt be making the move if you were not certain though so you will be fine
