Languages in the Balearics?
I came across something on either Wikipedia or Wikitravel, I forgot which. But it said something along the lines of it's the norm of the people living there to be multilingual because of the amount of different nationalities. But it didn't say which, so my question is, is knowing Spanish sufficient to live/work/play in Ibiza, Mallorca, or other islands in the Balearics? Or is it best to speak another language? If so, which? Catalan? German? French? Is just knowing Spanish (and English of course) enough?
PS, I don't have any plans to live there, I'm really curious after reading that.

Re: Languages in the Balearics?
Read the local local job offers (if you can understand them, most aren't written in english).
It's normal to be expected to speak;
1. German
2. Spanish
3. English
and increasingly
4. Russian
If you are a singularly German speaker, you'll find some sort of job.
If you are a singularly English speaker, you might get a job.
If you speak Russian, you might get a job.
If you speak Spanish in addition to any of the above, your chances improve dramatically.
If you speak the top 3 languages, you will likely have a job rather easily.
If you are fluent in all 4, you are a god (especially in real estate).
