Pathetic sentence. They should both have gone to prison and been fined at least as much as they stole.
Essentially all that happened was that he has to pay the money back - that is not justice in any form.

I agree Fred punishment does not fit the crime and fails to act as a deterrent to others.

Unfortunately those crooks in suits like Sir Phillip Green always go free.

Rosemary unfortunately there are too many like this. No doubt he and his alleged sister would be the sort back last year ranting about foreigners/immigrants getting benefits for nothing from the UK. We have plenty of homegrown scroungers in the UK but seem to prefer to blame others! Like you I love it when they are found out and dealt with after all they are stealing our money.

I personally would love to see all of the Brits who do not register and do not complete tax returns to be dealt with severely. Also those driving illegal cars. Normally law abiding citizens seem to think that it is alright to behave in this manner and if you talk to them about it they would say that they are not harming anyone and it is not criminal.

Possibly the only positive thing about Brexit for those of us living in Spain.

At 70 years of age how and when is he going to pay it back? Probably 10 euros a month until he dies. Time that the punishment fits the crime.
