Hi folks,

My name is David and in a couple of years time I am looking to retire to Spain.

I have all sorts of questions and searching to do on this great site.

In the meantime I just thought I would say hello.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

You need to decide exactly what what you want from living in Spain and then it's research, research until you make a decision about location, etc.
There are so many different lifestyles an expat can enjoy, you just need to be sure to pick the one that suits you best. Not a lot different to the UK really.
If you post a list of what you want, I am sure that will help you, however, you shall also find out on this forum that we all believe our little bit of Spain is best so take what we say with a pinch of salt.

Hi David and welcome, I agree with the above post, we all like the area we live in and if you ask anyone to recommend you will be inundated. lots of research, campo or village or town, beach or inland etc, do you wnat to be near expats etc. enjoy the fun deciding and enjoy the forum
