Default ITV Spain

Like everything anywhere the ITV procedure depends on the person in control of it. The ITV inspector who did my one in Malaga decided that the brake light (my car has only one) and fog light are on the wrong side of the vehicle. The car was originally English registered but was rematriculated 2 years ago by the previous owner and has passed the previous 2 tests without any mention of this.
Now I'm in a fix - I think I need to buy new light clusters, there may be electrical work involved and it could cost more to resolve the problem than the car is worth.
If anyone has any advice or knows a good English speaking mechanic in Torremolinos/Malaga area, please let me know.

Sorry to say, but this is quite correct and should have been spotted when it was first matriculated.

I would say go somewhere else for the ITV but now that it's been spotted I guess you can't.

Any good mechanic should be able to sort you out - try a Spanish one, I'm sure you'll manage with a dictionary.

Thanks for your reply. I guess I've been a little unlucky.

Hola

As laws change, so the ITV may well change also; changing the reversing and high intensity (rear fog) lights over is not a difficult job but the cost of the read light cluster may be a little expensive but not compared to headlights.
