Hi
can someone pm me a decent iptv provider who doesn’t disappear, or charge the earth and that has been consistent for a long period. It is for an old friend on the Costa del Sol.
thanks in advance

I've been using DVDLabs for some 8 years now which kinda says it all. Utterly reliable and can be used on cheap MAG box, €15/mth or €150 for the full year.
Only potential downside for some might be an almost total lack of sport but for a sport detester like me that's not a downside at all!.
Yes they are Costa Blanca based but it matters not where you use the service, I took my MAG box to OZ a couple of years back

Also PM'd in case this post get's pulled.

Any idea what type of channels they are actually looking for ? if its just mainstream channels and catchup apps then there are many ways to get these without paying for IPTV.

Good point. For mainstream UK channels (and their online streaming services/apps) you don't really need to do much to use them abroad.

Hi guys
Thanks for your input.. I use iptv which I take to Spain and use in the uk, that’s why my 85 year old friend had asked me for advice, I’m 58 but apparently a whipper snapper.
i can see iptv becoming rarer in ability as lots of countries have clamped down on it including Spain.
my friend wants uk tv with catch up, movies and boxsets. He would also look at Swedish tv as he is a swede but lived in the uk for many years. That’s why iptv is great for him.
With regards to other options, and trying to keep ahead of the game what other options do you all use, it’s easy for me taking my box to and fro.
I am aware I can bring my vpn router instead and download bbc iPlayer, ITVX, Chanel 4/5 apps into my smart tv and use them and top up with Amazon tv (my wife is on prime) and maybe take a Netflix subscription.
How are you guys doing it these days!
regards

As long as the internet connection is good, that's all you need now. No firestick, no dodgy box from some bloke who charges you a fortune, as all he is doing is using a Nord sub anyway and selling off the six devices you get.
Also with a good VPN you can swap servers at any time and watch TV from other countries. My daughter lives in OZ and she uses one of my six logins and watches Uk TV from there.
I have this old steam driven mac set to Oz at the moment as Im watching some history stuff. It will go back to UK later.

Between the likes of BBC/ITV/C4+5 and Australia's 7/9/10/SBS you have an absolute goldmine in terms of content. In fact I didn't renew my Netflix subscription recently because I only sub in for a single month... every 6 months, but I am paying each month for ITVx as it's worth the money to get rid of all ads.
Of course if you want more international channels and all the sports you would be looking at IPTV to provide those.

That's why I prefer a DNS solution to a VPN, as you don't have to switch anything once you set it up and want to watch UK and AU tv apps without toggling any settings each time.

All I did was connect the cable and then set the VPN info Nord gave me on the account, and bingo bongo, the wife has unlimited British rubbish to keep her occupied while I draw, write, rebuild the Moke yet again and go visiting all the 16th-century signal stations along the coast.
Most of our friends have dodgy Fire Sticks or Chromecasts or some other thing that costs them a tenner or so a month, and every so often they have to meet Nigel (or whoever) in a local bar and swap it.
All Nigel did was take out a Nord 2-year sub for €80, and he can sell that six times.
Not bad, and because he is English and an Essex boy, you know he is trustworthy.

Ive used lots of different options in the past but we've mainly settled on an Apple TV device (the little black puck) with a DNS which works perfectly and once setup doesn't need to be touched. We can also take the Apple TV when we travel. I also have an IPTV service for sport that works from an app in the Apple TV, so it's an all in one solution that just works. The DNS I use is Streamlocator . There is a small charge but for me well worth the investment as everything works seamlessly in the Middle East, Europe and beyond.

If someone doesn't have one yet though then it might be worth holding out a little bit longer as a newer version should be just around the corner (the current model was released 1277 days ago): https://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#Apple_TV
For smart DNS the three major providers on the market are Streamlocator, dns4me.net & getflix and all three will get the job done. They each have their unique little plusses but overall the product is similar. Don't want to push any of them in particular as they are all solid.
For the IPTV service on the Apple TV does it rely on using the Supa Legacy app (which handles streaming in general for loads of providers) or do they have a dedicated app?
Ours is an LG, but any modern TV that has an Ethernet or WiFi connection works.

A VPN will get the job done too, though it will cover only one region at a time. Have you been able to set it up on the TV so that it connects automatically each time?
Oh, don't remind me of the Chromecast... brings back bad memories and face-palm moments of "why did I buy this junk in the first place?"

The Firestick is still ok for IPTV but I haven't bothered using it for anything else. Plus it's just a backup in case my main device ever has issues with IPTV.

Occasionally ITV will ask me to log back into the account, but that's them pulling servers.
I like it because we then get London and South weather and local news.
On the Mac, all I do is reconnect to OZ and give my daughters' postcode (in the middle of nowhere) and get all the OZ channels.
Haven't tried to see if I can get the other BBC (Barbados Broadcasting Corporation), but I might just for fun.

Not all TVs will let you input a country and a postcode, mine has UK/IE software or Europe without UK/IE software, it was bought in Spain and came with the latter and knows nothing about Freeview or UK TV apps.
