To say it’s a top of the range stick,it wouldn’t even find my iPhone signal!!
prehaps a hard line internet connection would have been better but less hassle and more expensive.!!
Have you tried your mifi in different locations to see if you get better reception.
what card did you get with the box?
you will need unlimited data sim.

I think I’ve got the thing sorted out in my head now.
i was sold a cheap mi-fi box that I’ve found online for as little as £10.I paid €60 euros and the person in the shop was rude when I went back in to saw the instructions were missing, the reason being he opened the box and sold me the data sim and put it in.Tried to say I didn’t need it.funny how people are different when your not spending money and have a honest request.i needed to change the obvious password.
He sold me a 100 gig data sim for €15 and he assured me it works everywhere in Fuengirola!!
I now noticed that the best reception is Movistar as I’m seeing 5 bars from all the apartments around me and my iPhone works better in the apartment if I change to that.
ive got my mi-fi box on the balcony less than a meter from the fire stick top of the range brand new and you can do a speed test on them.
It won’t even do one it’s that weak!!
Any recommendations for where to buy a Movistar sim data only.50 gig will get me through or like my phone where you can change provider for better service.ive seen a online company offering this but wouldn’t know how that would work but your network provider seems to be in some sort of arrangement 🤔
mas A side note can I say thank you for all the help I’ve received from this forum on this holiday.
I only come for two weeks a year to the family apartment and always have something to sort out, maybe the ITV for the car and now repairs or the T.V.
for my parents.Thank you all👍

As you can with SmartDNSProxy because it's setup in the WiFi settings of the device you wish to use so theoretically there is no limit to the number of devices you can use.

True however unlike old copper connections where a short power glitch could result in a router picking up a new IP address I find with fibre it's actually quite persistent and even with router downtimes of several minutes it comes back with the same address as before, possibly a function of my fibre provider. In any case it's a very quick and simple process to refresh it in the app or on the website.

Ive never suggested you were exaggerating but the experiences of one person is not always reflective of everyone. It's great though that you have had such amazing service.

Absolutely, and if a family use 4 devices its has to be setup 4 times over. Great if it works for you as it has for me but not everyone has the patience or knowledge to do it, thats all I was trying to say.

Thats how yours works, trust me it's not like that with every service provider.

Exactly the kind of 'tinkering' I was referring to in my first post, great for you and me but for others not so simple. my elderly mother when she was alive couldn't do it and neither can my wife.

Have you tried a Movistar store ..... Im not sure if they will do a SIM only for non residents, if you have any way of testing Vodafone coverage they will do a PAYG sim to non residents and you can recharge it online or via the app.

wow that Vodafone sounds like a good option.
looks like there more forward thinking than the rest. Thanks for sharing
I think the only people who know if coverage is good for the area is the pro’s who come and set your internet TV !!

If you do have a Vodafone store near you then you can pick up a free SIM and test it out by adding a few euros and then let it die if it's no good.

This option if it’s a good combination is brilliant.
why can the competition look how the good ones are doing it and give maximum options.
Movestar seems to have the place locked down and as such are expensive.
I went in the shop about a hard line and was given a book this the 3-4 price ranges. The lowest gets you TV internet and a phone line on virgin although it’s only the basic pakage

Does Vodafone allow you to adjust the tariff? If there are periods when no one is using the data then you could be paying when you don’t need to.

Simyo for example allow you to adjust online/app from €1 (100MB) to €17 (150GB) also unused allowance accumulates for three months. Worked well in TP-Link router while I waited for fibre to become available.

No fibre available in your area for fast unlimited data? Some providers allow a holiday mode to reduced cost e.g. Axarfusion

You can adjust with Vodafone but admittedly not as low as Simyo (which I have also used), the only reason I mentioned Vodafone was because the OP wanted a fast and easy solution and Voda you can walk in whereas Simyo send out by post etc. Unless anything has changed Simyo also only offer 4G (on Orange) with Vodafone its 5G (although for a static router a good 4G signal is usually fine).

What's missing still is the option to switch to eSIM.

But 5G is indeed working well and I believe the 12GB plan has been hiked up to 20GB at no extra cost. Plus Simyo tend to give out huge bonus amounts of data from time to time, even recently you can get an extra 50GB for free as a "summer bonus."

eSIM is available and you can switch it online within a couple of hours or less.

Just picking this up again as I have had time to test it. (I know it’s not for everyone but for those interested)

In my testing both in Spain and UAE the hub works seamlessly and enables you to connect your device via WiFi or Ethernet and all of the common UK apps will work perfectly.

I have been testing it using an AppleTV via Ethernet and also using UK apps on an iPad connected via WiFi. There are no adjustments needed to the device you are using, the hub does everything.

In my view good value for money for an almost hassle free solution.
