Default Internet in Javea

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find the best internet deal for our place here in Javea. We have been to Orange, vodaphone & Blu. Orange and Vodaphone have told us we are outside of the fibre area so can only get up to 5mb speeds for between €35-€50. Blu want to put dishes on the building so we will be giving them a miss. Does anyone have any other suggestions for places for us to try?

Thank you in advance.

Dean

You have three choices, a small antenna on the wall for wireless internet, a 4G router, if available in your area, but there will be download restrictions, or internet by phone line. Oh, one more, satellite, but I know nothing about that option!

Movistar is probably the owner of the cable ( probably still copper and years old ) for the area you are and other operators just use it so if they get slow internet Movistar will not be any better. This was our experience on the Costa del Sol.

You will need to check out alternative solutions not by landline - may be worth checking the internet or locally to see if there are any independent fibre optic companies doing cabling in the area. This was our solution as there were three or four companies competing with fibre packages.

Movistar upgrading cables to fibre optic quite rapidly mainly because they want to sell TV services of course. I am in a residential area (as against commercial) and we had FO cable 2 years ago.

We used Telitec for years but switched to Blu when they first opened and promised better speeds. We’ve had nothing but problems and are lucky to get 2-3 MB. Unfortinatwly 0.5MB is more common!

We also need to find a new provider.

Dependant upon your usage but I have a Three sim/mifi router on a UK contract that allows 12gb/month of data when roaming in Europe. Suits my needs.
