Hi Anne c
Sory cannot help with internet cafe, but re your phone you can change the sim to a spanish one, just go into any mobil phone shop and tell them you need new sim, odds on they will activate it for you etc, you normally get a good deal with calls added.
Keep the old sim as you can interchange when you go back to the UK . This is what I do.

As pwwm says its cheaper to get a Spanish sim card, if you use your orange it will cost more, also if anyone calls you from UK the call charge comes off your credit also, sort of payed twice by the caller and you
You will also need an unlocked phone.
You will also need an unlocked phone.

I've signed up with Vodaphone and when I'm in Spain if I make a call I pay £0.75p as a one off and then the charges are the same as in the UK. Also as I have a 200 min inclusive deal the minutes I call from there are included in the rate.
Do you think this will be cheaper or not? I have no experience of Spanish mobile charges

I can't help with internet cafes, I'm afraid, but if any of you have wi-fi enabled laptops, I've found an excellent site that tells you of wi-fi hotspots all around the world. I've discovered that there are four in Altea, which is rather fun.
