Default Internet Advice wanted

My wife and I have moved into a rental property in Polop near Benidorm. When we have moved in we have discovered the complex doesn't have the appropriate permits for us to get a normal phone and broadband line! As we are both teachers we really need to get online does anyone have any advice on the best way to do that? I know that some of the bungalows have a satellite dish but I've never used internet in that way before and not sure how it works and I can't find a 'big' company like Movistar to provide it!

I would consider a mobile dongle but the ones from Lyca and Orange only offer a couple of gb download and that's useless when I want to download plans and watch tv etc!

Thanks in advance!!!!

The best way would be to see who supplies WiMax - this would be your cheapest solution.

Watching TV is so much simpler with a satellite dish and FreeSat - no need for expensive internet plans.

I've had a look at the WiMAX and that's looking in at around 25 a month would it not be cheaper to get satellite internet if I need it for the TV too I'm really not sure what to do for the best?

How long a contract are you looking at?

Satellite isn't cheap. Say £35pounds a month for 20Gb. TV uses maybe half a GB an hour. I haven't seen any unlimited Sateillite Internet. A supplier of limited is Bentley Walker product Tooway Home.

There is a Movistar product for rural users with no copper/fibre infrastructure called Fusion FUSIÓN+ Radio. Incluye Movistar+, la mejor oferta de TV Good value but you have to take a lot!

I believe local TV/Internet companies offer a similar priced package to specific areas that they haven't cabled e.g. a nearby village. They install an antenna on a suitable building to serve the users. Might be worth investigating if you are covered by such an arrangement.

I have no access to
Landline internet. I am not in your area. I use a system with a small dish on outside wall which connects to standard type router inside the house. It works then just like any normal internet inside the house. No problems re surfing or for TV which I watch via android box apps or Kodi. I get no more buffering than you would get on a mains set up. Mine costs me for unlimited internet use 31 euros per month +iva. Just looked up system it says it is air Max not sure if that's same as wimax? Works for me and I know plenty who use same system. There must be similar in your area?

Yep, the technology is WiMax but the company may 'brand' it as air max.

For the OP, Satellite internet uses different technology and a different dish alignment than satellite TV does - so this would not be an option unless you install two systems.

As said, satellite internet is expensive - both monthly and to BUY the equipment.
