Default Insurance information/advice

We have seen ads for linea directa and others, but what is the best place to get home contents insurance, we have heard that it's very expensive over here.

Sierra de Yeguas, Antequera area, north of Malaga province in the geographical centre of Andalucia, or so they say.

We are also after public liability for our salon, so anyone who does nails/beauty/holistics could you let us know who and how you insure. We don't want to be the ones it happens to. Everything always has to be totally above board for us, as we are just not the type to be able to work in the black economy.

Any help would be appreciated - we couldn't find anything in the free beer section and it looks as though there may be a few beauty therapists etc on here.

Linea Directa do not do home insurance.. yet.. We use Mapfre, had no problems when we had to claim.

Thanks for that, Mike. That jogged a memory somewhere, from someone who mentioned the same one, but I'd forgotten.

Just need a beauty therapist now, to tell us about professional insurance.

I got a quote for public liability from them and it was reasonable. They are British but based in Spain and do everything.
Where is your salon going to be?

Cheers for that. I'm sure I've seen knight advertised in one of the coast magazines when we had our studio in Torrox.

The salon will be in Sierra de Yeguas, close enough to larger towns, but far enough away...

I have a home contents & buildings policy with Mapfre at around 385 euros iirc, considerably less than I paid in the UK

Hi - I wanted to go with intasure but Barclays who have my mortgage would only allow mapfre. Did your mortgage lender agree to buildings insurance with intasure?

thanks

What Barclays are doing is actually illegal as long as intasure meet the requirements set down by your mortgage lenders they cannot prevent you taking out a policy with whoever you like. Barclays obviously take commission from Mapfre, I would challenge them if I were you
