Ok, that's puzzling me. How does a hot metal dipped object end up greasy? I was never told degrease it.

I agree that if hammerite won't stick, I'm damned if I know what would.

Don't know where the grease comes from - maybe a quick spray to slow the oxidation or contam from the handling and transport??
Just going off what I see when they've been doing new bridge stuff at work - A good session with the "tric' " then primer, then a couple of coats of colour. (that's in a seaside environment)

He should be careful at his age, a permanent erection can mean a lot of maintenance which will use up a lot of energy that could be put to better use somewhere else.

Just for curiosity- why have galvanized siding/roofing installed if you wanted it a color? Why not porcelan/enameled steel siding in the desired color?

I'm not having galvanized roofing, it will just be a frame, the roofing will be maybe bamboo or something like that.

I think its just cost really. I have a white covered awning, and that cost the same as the car port for half the size

You could always paint your erection with viagra, that's meant to keep things up longer than normal and probably is toughed for older ererections that have more windy days.

Thanks for that. A good point well made, and worthy of consideration. As erections go, it will be brand new, but I have no idea how it will stand up to wind, which is a constant problem that effects me here

It looks like this erection could take a while before it is fully erected funny that the heat is causing a problem in my experience it has always been a chill factor that has been the problem:)
