Go to your town hall and enquire. They will normally have a section that deals with the collection of the IBI on behalf of the cadastral.

There are web sites that show the cadastral reference but I don't know that it shows what has to be paid.

I have usually gone to the SUMA office and they pull up what is due on the computer, they collect for Hacienda in our area at least (north Costa Blanca). Have you not received the bill in the post?

Don't know if this is the same as the SUMA office but we had to get a copy of our IBI when we first bought our house as the one we had was for a different house (long story). Anyway we got ours in Velez Malaga from an office called PATROATO DE RECAUDACION PROVINCIAL which is just down from the Hacienda on the opposite side of the road next to the pahrmacy (in case this helps anyone in this area). Just waited in the queue to be seen printed of copy of the IBI from the computer.

As I get no notification of mine I take last years to Ayuntamiento and ask for the bill for this year. It comes out in Sept here I think.

When you pay the IBI make sure the cadastral number is the correct one for your house.
Eighteen months ago when we paid ours they had made a mistake that we didn't notice, we actually had paid for the house next door.
At this point in time after eighteen months and many visits to the office we are still waiting for a refund from Malaga.

Ours is due in September, we paid in July but because of their mistake we had paid for the house next door.
In October they said we had not paid so it was a visit to their office to sort it all out (one of many), we had to pay 'ours' including a fine for late payment...which they will not refund us even if and when they do get round to crediting my bank account for the overpayment.

After eighteen months we finally two weeks ago received a paper to say the refund has been authorised .....I'm guessing it will be at least another two years though before I get it , if at all.

This is in fact the fith year that they have got something wrong....if they had a brain they would be dangerous!

I read the many posts about the problems people have in Spain with Solicitors, power companies, councils etc but I have had no trouble.
In fact I have such trust in my Solicitor that he retains Power of Attorney over my Spanish bank account that he set up for me.

Yes I had a similar incident when we first bought our house. the guy I bought from (brit) everytime I visited had put the bill through the door. I was confused as solicitor had set up direct debit. On 3rd visit bill through door again shortly after which I bumped into the guy and said I would speak with my solicitor< he clearly wasn't happy at this and i said well look either some things not right or he hasn't done his job. Spoke with solicitor who was bemused as he had set up Direct debit. But then said this is for last year you took over the house in January not your bill would legally have been had we took over in december. So went back and told the guy this he said oh would you pay half to which I said and when you thought it was my bill were you going to pay half??? I think you know my answer. Anyway on a bit more research as yourself realised it was for a house down the street from the ref number. Next time I was out i pointed this out to the guy and said you must have been paying for the wrong house blank look. But as has been said since then no problems direct debit seems fine.

Slightly off topic but has everyone completed their 210 for the year?
