He pointed out that details such as names addresses, dates of birth and bank account details could be found out by anyone who was interested either from a cheque or the electoral roll. To illustrate how unconcerned he was he then published his own details in the paper. A couple of weeks later he found that someone had used those details to set a standing order to a charity and £500 had already been paid out of his account  MY Iban number is ES52. |

Re: IBAN Numbers? Swift Codes?
At the top of my Banco Andalucia statement is an explanation of how IBAN is set out.
Bank Office DC Account No IBAN ES47 0004 3135 0000 0000 0000 All Spanish banks start wih ES and a number then the bank is identified in this case Banco Andalucia part of the Grupo Banco Popular so this could be either the bank or group number then the branch in this case Ayamonte where there is only one branch of the group. I do not know what DC is short for but is two digits folowed by the first two digits from the 10 digit account number. So in summary the IBAN for a Spanish account is ES00 followed by 20 digits get it right and everything works quickly and correctly. |

Well obviously the law has changed since I was in business there back in the 1990's when we were advised by accountants and solicitors that it was required for our Limited Company
