Has CM been banned too? Or is he just on a quest to find a decent meal in Sheffield whilst avoiding the inevitable shoeless street urchins who infest the place?

No one else has been banned or even been in danger of it. Believe it or not, it takes a lot to get banned here ... I think I've only done it twice in 6 years

This is a large commercial site which needs to attract as many clients as possible to increase its profits. People tend to forget that.

As such it needs moderation to keep order. Members may enjoy a lively discussion even when it gets a bit heated, but if it puts off prospective new clients, repeatedly, it has to be stopped.

My pen wants to run away and talk of freedom of speech, but this is not the right time, or the right place for that.

That shows how well the methods used in the moderation of this forum works. Obviously it is good for the forum to keep things under control without waving too heavy a stick The forum cannot succeed if members do not respect the rules or listen to the moderators and heed gentle warnings. A balance is difficult to maintain with so many different characters using the forum so well done the mods for maintaining such a great forum.

He'll be suicidal, this was his life, he was on here from dawn to dusk, when he wasn't, he was googling! He'll have to find another vehicle for his trenchant views, he'll pop up somewhere else.

Talking about someone when they don't have the opportunity to respond is inappropriate, IMO.

Can anyone post a link to his website? Is it appropriate to ask, I'm not sure?

This is the kind of thread the Mods just love, they want to delete it or at least close it but there just isn't enough grounds to do so... love it.

Is a ban indefinite or is it just a case of sitting on the naughty step for a couple of weeks?

Suppose they could close it as it is discussing the mods actions...I would close it
