Default How many dependants on an Irish passport

I am a British citizen. I am waiting for my Irish passport to be processed. I understand my girlfriend and child will be able to live in Spain with me visa free with out their own Irish passport. Would parents in law also be able to stay visa free on my residency?

EU citizen or their civil partner can have their dependent direct relative of whatever nationality in the ascending line (i.e. parents) join them in the country of residence, but the parents must be financially dependent on their children. The exact nature of dependency isn't spelled out in Family Reunification Directive 2003/86/EC, and it's left to each member state to define.

Parents in law are parents in law, so if they are British remain British.

Where does it state parents in law? That link was from 2016, but UK is no longer EU. His parents yes, but not parents in law.
