Thumbs up How do you get a residencia?

The Spanish embassy in Sydney said 'no worries, mate - in your hands in three months'. Yeah, right. That was nearly three years ago, with no sign of anything. Was it lost? Have I been refused? Does anyone know anything about anything? It's a big DUNNO to all the above. So can I get this done in Spain? All advice appreciated.

If you are on an OZ passport things will be very different.
If you are an EU citizen with a British passport you will only get a residencia certificate.
In our area you go along to the local National Police Stn and make an appointment.
They will give you forms to fill in and a form to take to the bank just before your appointment to pay for it, was about 8 €`s the last I heard.
On the appointment take along your passport and a copy, rental agreement and copy, but check if they need anything else when you make the appointment as every region wants different paperwork. ;-))
They will issue you a certificate and an NIE number on the day if you do not already have one.
