Default how to dispose of old printer

Hi I wonder if anyone can give me advice on getting rid of a broken laser printer? Surely you don't just dump them by the bins??

Your ayuntamiento should have a "punto limpio" which is a place to leave stuff like that.

Take it to your local eco-park; they will take it off your hands.

I put my broken printer at the side of Basura, with a note attached saying, it is broken, if you want to try and repair, take it. It was gone within 30 minutes

Ahh I'll ask about. Maybe the local policeman will know.
Cheers.

I remember reading somewhere that if you cut off the plug it means it doesn't work - if you leave it on it means it works.

Seems like a good idea - has anyone else come across this?

That seems to be the convention round here (Nerja area) also Fred, the little man that lives in the bins leaves it if no plug, mostly.
He still takes it if it's shiny !

Anything like that we take to our local 'punto limpio' where the man on the gate sorts out anything he might be able to sell on.....
Last week he made sure our copper piping didn't go in the recycling container there.

If you do a search for "punto limpio mytown_or_province" you should come up with a list of venues set up for the purpose of re-cycling of electrical equipement

You throw away copper piping? It's far too valuable a material to do that with. When I want copper strip, I just take a length of tube, cut it lengthways once, heat it with a blowlamp to soften it and then hammer it out.

Plus if you are into artistic, I have seen some amazing stuff done with old copper pipe and then giving it a verdigris treatment to colour it green.

You should have seen the amount of copper and brass that we took to the scrapyard in England before we moved here.....the price we got was hardly worth the journey!
