Default House Insurance for Property in UK - Rented

Do any of you rent out your property back in the UK whilst living in Spain? If so can you recommend an insurance company or broker for buildings insurance. As a tenant lives in it, it cannot be insured under normal household insurance.

Ocaso, MMA, AUL, all do let propertys, also try A-Plan insurance they are nationwide broker, they will be able to get you a quote. the price will be exspensive as it is let, also you need to advise your mortgage provider if you have one, as not all companys will allow you to rent out your property. also the excess will be around £250. If you let to DSS it will be even dearer.

Our house in the UK is lived in by our son and two other young men.

We have the insurance through Alan Boswell, Norwich, phone number 01603 218000. Their website is www.alanboswell.com
We have found the cover good and the premium reasonable.

I also use this company for a property that I rent out and have found them to be very good, they also run a discounted scheme for memebers of the National Federation of Residential Landlords (www.NFRL.co.uk/benefits.cfm).

Will try out those sites and thank you all. I did find yesterday Endsleigh Insurance whose quote was excellent at 160 GBP for the year which is a saving of 47 GBP on my original quote.
