With firewood being so expensive I searched around and eventually found a supplier for coal /anthracite , unfortunately its very expensive , probably cheaper to get a load frieghted down from the UK, heres the message from the supplier in Algeciras


" Los sacos de carbón de antracita vienen en sacos de 30K y cuestan 30€ cada uno, comprando los 1000Kg presupuestados. En total son 34 sacos y 1020Kg.
El total es 1020 € + IVA, para recoger en Algeciras
Si los quiere tiene que avisar con 10 días de antelación para poder envasarlos. La forma de pago es 50% por adelantado y el resto a la entrega del carbón."

I used to get mine free from under my own land when the coal companies were digging it up.

Well almost free,.... it burned so hot that it burned out two chimneys.

I have no idea if it is still the case but some regions did not permit the burning the coal way back when I arrived in Spain.

Ive never heard of any restrictions ,I intend using it in a farmhouse range out in the sticks so I doubt the DoE will be hiding in the bushes with binoculars.
