Why not try Bookings.com and Tripadvisor to start with.

had good experience at the Amrey Diagonal on the Avinguda Diagonal 161, Barcelona 08018
good communications and not too far outside the town centre, good transport including the train which runs in the middle of the dual carriageway
when I was there a couple of years ago there weren't many in that area of town but there are now quite a few to choose from as many of the hotel chains suddenly realised that part of town is only a short walk from the marina with its large range of restaurants.
whatever you decide hope you enjoy your stay.

The television suggest trivago. They even dump you in the pool once you've chosen!
We last stayed at the Fira Palace in Montjuis. 5 mins walk to the dancing waters. 10mins walk to miro foundation. close to public transport.

I stayed in the Hotel Balmes a few years ago. Short walk to the top end of the Rambla with a garden and pool, that you do not always get in the city centre.
Only 3 star but I really liked it. It's part of a small chain of 3 -5 star Barcelona hotels

All booked thanks for the recommendations. Went for Hotel Granados 83 in the end through easytobook.com. Got a really good deal.
