Hi Janet,

Welcome to our site, I can't help with your question as I'm in the USA and don't know the first thing about these things, but I've moved your thread to our Spain forum and I'm sure some kind folk will be along soon to help.

Welcome again and I hope you enjoy being part of our little community.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

There are loads of Goldwings on this website for sale.
Segundamano So there are some in Spain.
the same website also has trikes for sale.
If the technician at the ITV station has never seen one that is their problem.
What did it fail on?
Yes you have to obtain certificate from an Engineer. I had to have one to import my old Austin Westminster. That was because the car was never originally imported into this country. That report costs money. But it is the only way it is the only way.

You might find it easier to contact someone who specialises in re-registering UK to Spain. There are many who do it for a reasonable fee in CB South.

Check you local free rags.

I only know one owner of a Goldwing trike. He got his done at the IVT centre in Torrevieja.

I think you will find there are people who do the matriculation that your local friendly garage can call on. The guy will come out to the garage, take the VIN and model and give an initial report. Then he will go away and check the specn for the original vehicle. This means that if you have any go-faster mods added then they will have to be removed. From that will come the final test as to the suitability of the vehicle to be registered on Spanish soil.

After you get the matriculation completed by the ITV you then take the pass note to the Hacienda and pay the duty relating to that vehicle. Most people use a gestor for this, but you can do it yourself.
After the Hacienda has been paid you take their receipt and the ITV docs to the Trafico office and they issue you with the SP number plate info, having paid them you take their docs, which will include a permission for the issue of number plates, to a local plate maker who will require that authorisation.
After that you fit the new plates and you are LEGAL

I did my UK car earlier this year and so I speak from that experience.

You would be better of putting this question on a bikers forum. They sort these sort of things all the time!
