Just thinking that because of the exchange rate it might be useful to advertise a holiday home to the German market. However of course it is a language problem. Has anyone tried it or is there a site targetting the German/Dutch market which is in English?

Don't know the answer to your question. Do know a number of people who rent theirs or other people's properties out & everyone here is saying very few British customers this year, all Dutch & Belgian (the next biggest foreign population here is Dutch).

Most Dutch speak very good English, but yes there are Dutch rental specialists & maybe a few 'teaser' words for the search engines followed by mostly English would be sufficient .... but that's only a not very educated guess.

If you want to target English speakers from all over the world you should leave your web advertising in English. However if you are looking for a listing site targeting those countries they would naturally be in the local language. But if you advertise in any other language your customers expect you to be able to also speak the language too, that is normal is it not?
