The boom in holiday rentals has definitely had a knock on effect creating a shortage of long-term rentals and consequently higher prices in many areas including the Costa Blanca.

Balearics already fined AirBnd for renting unregistered apartments and rooms.
Barcelona done the same to Airbnd and Homeaway.
Progress I believe
