Credit where it's due.

He had to leave because he'd run out of options due to the Govts determination to go the extra mile despite every obstacle that was put in their way.
I doubt if the previous shower would have done likewise.

Does anyone in their right mind think he left willingly to knowingly go to a country like Jordan and be charged with terrorist offences within hours of arrival ?

Willingly walking to the plane uncuffed was simply a last vain attempt to save some face.

Another reason for the long delay is that the government barristers, treasury counsel, are not the best in the business; they're poorly paid and their counterparts in private practice are paid four times as much and are four times cleverer.

It's the same with the crown prosecution service, at least at the lower levels; they're terrified of their own shadows and even more terrified of the much cleverer solicitors who are engaged by the defence, though not in legal aid cases.

I don't think I mentioned winning just that she had seen it through and went a different route to ensure he had no option but to volunteer to go. My point was that she managed to get rid of him voluntary or not labour didn't so she may not as you say won but labour definately failed.

it doesn't matter how you look at it, he left the country therefore it is a win for the Home Secretary.

He cost us well over £1.7 million, most incurred during fluffy bunny Labour "government" that failed.

He still has relatives in the UK who will be a drain on our resources for decades to come.

I have no problems over Human Rights, I am not happy about evidence obtained from torture but at the end of the day this must be seen as victory for the safety of the people of the UK, who have been laughed at, ridiculed and abused by this man.
I suggest this is a warning to all who wish to use the UK for their own ends that the UK is becoming less and less of a safe haven for those who promote terrorism as well as those who carry it out

Dom I too have no problem with Human Rights per say I do have a problem with how they're manipulated by the like of this man and his barristers.

No doubt the legal bill for his lawyers was also piked up by the tax payer under " legal aid ". Was Cherie Blair involved ????

I believe, Thatcher was in power when he came to the UK in 1979
I believe, Thatcher's government granted him a three month visa
I believe, Thatcher's government failed to throw him out
I believe, Thatcher's government allowed him to marry and after 3 years granted him a UK passport

When Labour came to power in 1997, he was already legally a UK citizen.

Missile is right in this case but remeber in those times the war in Afghanistan where we and the US supported fundementalist including the Taliban against the Russians was going on.
