Default Help Taking Car back to England

Hello, we are relocating back to England and taking our Spanish Registered car with us as we need transport for a few weeks. We have 2 people interested in by it when we can let it go. How do I transfer it over to them. An English car I would fill in the Log Book and send it off to the DVLA, in Wales. Any advise would be appreciated. Alan

Hi Dolben,

I'm unsure of the best place for you question, but think it may be the Spain forum, as I'm not sure if this topic has come up in the MBTTUK forum but I know I've seen it mentioned in the Spain one from time to time. So I'm going to move it there for you.

Best of luck with your move.

Hi

The answer is carefully; you will remain liable for all fines etc unless the bookwork is comopleted correctly.

There is a tax to be paid to the Junta for the transfer, then you go to Trafico and pay them to transfer the car over, then you release the keys and give the car over and not before!!!

Needles to say you need all the bookwork for you, the buyer and the car and photocopies.

The best thing to do is 'Baja' the vehicle before you leave which is basically the procedure to export the vehicle out of Spain and will stop any fees/fines going against the vehicle. Here's a (Google) translated version of what the procedure is from the DGT site (www.dgt.es)

TRANSFER BY LOWER FINAL
Vehicle to another country
This procedure may be requested at any Provincial Traffic
 Official application form. (Printed www.dgt.es available)
 rate amounting to € 8.00, except for vehicles over 15 years old since its enrollment
Spain.
 interested id:
 Individuals; official document proving the identity and address of the owner (DNI, permit
Spanish driving, green card, passport and Foreigner Identification Number).
 Companies: tax identification card and credit society representation and identity
sign. (Model available in www.dgt.es)
 minor or disabled: data and signature of parent or guardian, your ID and documentary proof
concept by acting.
 Vehicle Documentation: ITV card and registration certificate.
 The existence of a seal is an impediment to process down, it should cancel previously.
 Before asking for lower vehicle shall cancel any limitation provision which has registered in
Personal Property Registry, unless express consent of the Financial.
 In the case of agricultural vehicles must provide documentary proof of the low in Official
Agricultural Machinery region.
 In cases of low by transfer to a country outside the European Union, will provide document
stating that it is preparing the legal export of the vehicle.
NOTE: If the owner presents the procedure will be necessary to accompany this signed authorization, which is made
consist of free (available in www.dgt.es model)
