Default Helloooo

Hi to you all...I have just joined, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have decided to move to Nerja in the next month or two. Does anyone know of any long term rentals available there? Im looking for a two bed, central, walking distance to everything including beach and a reasonable rent. Must have good internet connection as I work online.
Hope to get to know some of you better in time, especially anyone who is living in Nerja.

thanks .

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

try googling alquiler en nerja will bring up a good selection of adverts with rents from around €250/m

you really need to ensure you are in a residential rather than holiday area to ensure your sanity when working for a living

perhaps you will get someone here with more direct experience of the area but you may want to stay in a hotel for a couple of weeks and make your own selection - unless you can find a good agent who will do it all for you.

keep us up to date as it progresses

Hi
Thank you for your comments. Do you live in Nerja? Please could you tell me a little more about the best areas to live. I work online, so can work wherever there is an internet connection.
I was thinking of living right in the centre as I dont drive. Do you think this would be a mistake?

all the best

Welcome to the forum. I don't live in Nerja, but not too far away and go there quite often. As a non-driver myself, I prefer to live in town, and as far as Nerja is concerned, the only area I would definitely avoid is near to what is called Plaza Tutti Frutti (or within earshot of it, as it is where all the late night, or actually until 6am, bars are located). It is situated between C/ Antonio Millon and C/Chaparil so if you see either of those streets mentioned, probably best to avoid! The area around the Parador hotel is quite nice, and relatively peaceful for a central location. Happy hunting!

Buena suerte! It has been reeeeeally cold this week but should warm up a bit at the weekend. Good idea to take a compass (unless you can navigate by the sun!), so you can work out where the sunny and shady bits will be at different times of the year. A south-facing window or balcony at this time of year is precious.

Let us know how you get on.
