I'm pretty certain it is the Convenio Especial, but I'm not sure that is has been available in all regions.

It is the convenio and it has been available in Valencia for quite a while.

OK, I thought it had been stopped but had been reintroduced. Thought it might be useful for some who didn't have another option.

Does lead me onto another point - my SIPS card is via the option due to longevity of my residencia - however this year (May) I qualify for UK GOV state pension and health care via these rights (and the UK will fund) so I plan to swop over - any problems/issues with this process - anybody been in the same boat?

Not yet, hopefully imminently.
S1 for state pension and for dependent spouse are on their way.

I think it will be easy based on my experience of changing from an S1 dependant to a full memeber after recieving my own S1.

A vist to the local INSS office with the new S1 form and it was sorted in a few minutes. No change to the health card or number and all records intact.

It's in Spain's interest to make it as easy as possible to switch from CE, or entitlement through employment in Spain, to S1 cover as it means they get fully reimbursed by UK!

Yes agreed! And I am happy to do that - I was just thinking I don't expect they get many applications from people who already have cover! Thanks for info as always.
