Heard yesterday that Endessa have gone bankrupt and that their shops are closing down.
Anyone confirm or deny this?

I would think they are too big to go bust

Unlikely as they are Spain's biggest energy company and it's owned by an even bigger Italian company.

In addition to the billions they make on their high-priced electricity, they profit another billion or so by blatantly overcharging their customers for it, So no, I doubt they're bankrupt... in fact, they're likely swimming in cash.
But then again, maybe they've squandered all those billions away somewhere so that they can claim bankruptcy and get a bailout of a few more billion... I wouldn't put it past them.
