I've taken to telling the neighbour how much things I buy here cost in the UK and he spends a lot of time laughing at the moment.

How much would a piece of marble 80 x 40 cms cost in the UK I wonder? Bought one here for 18 euros today, and a new window for 160 euros. I know those aren't dear Gordons fault, but on top of all the other cr@p you have to pay over there its enough to push you over the edge

Don't forget the price hike on fags, for those who insist on driving another nail into their coffins, and of course the increase in Beer and Cider prices, which would affect me, but not here.... . people will sson be able to get those very cheap flights out and back and buy enough fags to take back to cover the cost of the flight and then some.

Do you know that if a child is hit by a 4x4 they are far more likely to die than if hit by a normal car. 4x4 drivers are selfish people who think they own the road and dont give a toss about the environent. 4x4's should be banned from cities and towns full stop. Hail gorden and Ken

any car will kill a child! So you have never driven a bit too fast in a built up area?

Children die with or without 4x4's on the road!

What a totally lefty thing to say, sorry, your wrong!

Hi,
As a 4x4 owner (wish i bloody was not) i feel although they are gas drinkers my kids are 99% safe in them, i could not get all 3 kids in a smaller car.

and if all 4x4 and big cars were taking of the road who's going to pay for the short fall when mr brown realises that he has not got as much tax back from fuel.

I haven’t driven faster than 30 mph, it is a proven fact that 4x4s are more likely to kill a child whatever the speed as the bonnet is higher and aims straight at the head rather than the torso. Permanent brain damage or death for a child hit by one. I'd rather be a lefty than someone who selfishly drives a 4x4 because they would rather come out unharmed in the event of an accident its the typical "I'm alright jack" attitude. Never mind the family in the car crushed by the 4x4. There is no need whatsoever for a 4x4 in towns and cities...yes in the countryside if there is bad access.

A Mercedes/Audi/BMW estate takes up more road space and releases more emissions than your average 4x4, now I'm not talking the Rangerover Sport/Cayenne/Tuareg/X5, but I dont consider them to be a 4x4, they are a status symbol.

I need my 4x4 and will defend my right to drive it!

Next they will be telling us what sport we are allowed to participate in, what food we can eat, drink we are allowed and pastimes we can partake in!

still so bitter and unforgiving, such extreme points of view and narrow mindedness will surley never allow you to be totally happy.

Since we are talking about the budget, has no one noticed how bizarre it is that a SOCIALIST gov has abolished the lower rate tax band, therefore ensuring that ANYONE earning under about 18,000 a year is going to lose more money out of their salary yet those earning more will earn FROM 300 more a year!
