Now 1/3 or more of nurses or maybe it was all the female staff of the NHS have reported being assaulted sexually, fondled, inappropriately touched whilst at work - some during surgery procedures.

I have to say - either publicly, at work, on the street; I have never been part of nor seen behavior like this.

With so many saying this is happening, not just in the NHS I would think there are witnesses to the events.

Im not sure what your point is ? Like many things that happen in public people often look away and walk on. What is being reported is nothing new, what is new is the public awareness and people speaking up and speaking out about such behaviour. A related (but extreme) example would be the likes of Jimmy Saville, much of what he did was in plain sight so there were tons of 'witnesses' but nobody did anything to stop him and the victims that did try to speak up were not believed (back to the he said / she said scenario that you have previously mentioned). His behaviour destroyed many lives far more than we will ever know.

My wife was an NHS A&E nurse for 40 years, was she groped, fondled etc ? yes many times, most of it in private situations with patients. Sometimes she laughed it off, sometimes she came home to me in floods of tears.

There are still a lot of men in this world who need to educate themselves and drag their attitudes forward into 2023.

Whether people like it or not the way we behave around each other is undergoing a change. Social behaviour, cultural norms, sexual identity- all these are being modified and reformed to align with new values. Just as the 60s brought radical change to idea of relationships and family so we are undergoing a new revolution. No one now views the cultural changes of the 60s as ridiculous and so it will be in 10 or 20 years time. People adapt and accept. Your children and grandchildren will not question or have difficulties with gender fluidity and gender parity. It will simply be a part of life. Best to go with the flow than swim against the current. No one remembers Mary Whitehouse anymore or sides with her. The British establishment were made to look fools when they tried to ban DH Lawrence, Oz and jail Mick Jagger. Decide which side of history you want to be on and get on with the last part of your life with a bit of acceptance and tranquility. Se acabó.

Indeed. My son, at 23, exactly represents what you say about younger people.

It is changing, as uncomfortable as that might be for some. Sometimes the process is a little clunky and doesn't always seem quite right, but it is a process and to be expected.
