Well have not been on here for ages,but we do browse this site every day,seeing peoples problems etc!Well we have been out here for 18 months,tried it but finding life a struggle now and then so we have opted to move back to the UK.It wont be for another 6 months as we have just had our animals jabbed,and have to wait for the all clear.Our 11 yr old son understands and is happy to return (which helps)At least he has gained a second language which we hope he keeps up.At the end of the day its been an experience and you do appreciate what you have or what you had at 'home'.The grass isnt always greener,but you dont know until you try.A lot can happen in 6 months though,we might win the lottery and do something completely different!!!:

good luck with your move back...you are exactly right in that you dont know what its like until you try...there are many many people who wish they had the courage to do what you did and move to another country but they never do it...at least you have had the experience and so has your son

we too am moving back after being here for almost 6 years (for medical reasons) we too have a son aged 12 who is taking it all very well (at the moment) we are off in just over 3 weeks so are at the final stages of packing and sorting

sure you will have lots to do over the coming months, do you have a place to go back to ? and a place to sell here ? what area are you going back to ?

Firstly,thanks Sam for wishing us luck,like we said who knows what will happen! As for 'Spain' (person not place) we are moving back to sussex,where we was before we came here.We dont have any property back there,so thats the hard bit,we will have to rent privatly.we have family out here,they moved here 6,7 yrs ago and still happy to be here......basically we followed them here...........but they aint following us back!!!!Well i hope it all goes well for you going back in 3 weeks time to Kent,i used to live in Tonbridge Kent a few yrs ago before moving to sussex.Let us know how it went when you finally get back,good luck!!!!!

If you are renting then why not try another area....maybe nearer the coast? We were planning to move back to the UK last year and one month before we were due to return we decided (because we had lost out on a rental property in the UK) to move to be nearer the coast for a couple of months. We have not looked back, we like it here and decided to take on a years lease to see how it goes. If you can do that then why not try it before you make the final decision?
