The pink apartment block is my favourite: any idea what style of architecture that is?

That was in Olot and I think that it is Art Noveau. Apparently there is a mapped out walk that takes you to all of the relevant buildings.

The whole area is very lush, reminded me in some areas of East Sussex but then the mountains would come into view again and we soon realised that we were in Spain. When we were there the weather was not that great with quite a lot of rain but of course you would not have the lush greens in the countryside if it were not for the rain.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed Girona. I agree that Besalu and Banyoles are very picturesque.
We stayed in the Llafranc and surrounding area many times before we moved to Spain, which was one of the reasons for moving to Catalunya.

Hola Rosemary,
Thanks for re-opening this thread, and sending in your holiday photos. They are lovely.
Sant Feliu de Guijols - is it one of the photos?
I spent a few days there, but nearly 21 years ago! I only had eyes for the baby clothes shops!:D
Regards,
Carol

We did not take many photo's this time, OH videos where we go so that we can relax and watch when we are home.

Had the best value Menus del Dia there because we sought out the restaurant that was full of locals.

Here just for you are views of the beach at Sant Feliu de Guijols.

Hi Rosemary,

I'm another Girona fan - it's a lovely small city with a beautiful old town and very close to Cap de Begur which has some very picturesque villages and coves. It's also close to the Pyrenees and the parc natural de la Garrotxa. A couple of links worth looking at are:

To be perfectly honest with you the beach was fairly deserted because everyone had gone to lunch when we arrived. This was because we had spent too much time and money at La Bisbal which has soooooo many ceramic shops.......I must add that it was my OH gathering the goods together not me!!!!!!!
