Hey guys, I have lived all over Spain & suffered lately with the recession so I've decided to move to La Linea & find work in Gibraltar. I've heard all the horror stories & lived in Spain for 18 years so any positive advice would be appreciated. Am currently in Ibiza & it's worse than Bournemouth.
Is Ashley J or Andaluz Loli there? You guys seem helpful. PS All papers in order I'm a Londoner.

At the moment unless you have a Gibraltar ID card you can't get a new contract of employment so no jobs to foreigners thanks to the new government

I don't think that is correct.

Where an employer proposes to engage an entitled worker [ANY WORKER] to fill a vacancy, he
shall notify the Director ( of Employment ) of his intention in respect of that worker

*“For the purposes of these Regulations “entitled worker” means a worker who,–
(a) is–
(i) by virtue of his nationality or residence entitled to seek and take up employment in Gibraltar;
(ii) subject to regulation 7A, an EEA national as defined in the Immigration, Asylum and Refugee
Act;
(iii) subject to regulation 7A(4), a family member of an EEA national as defined in the
Immigration, Asylum and Refugee Act; or
(iv) otherwise entitled by the law of the European Union or of the European Economic Area to
seek and take up employment in Gibraltar;”

I found the original post rather strange

He mentions AshleyJ who made one post in November 2005, there is no Andaluz Loli in the members list although there is a Loli who made six posts between November 2005 and January 2006.

He appears to be looking for work in Gib but does not mention any type of work or qualifications or even areas of interest.
That is why I ignored the post at first to see how it developed, but intervened when false information was posted.

Still not sure he is for real.
