Default Gibraltar Frontier delays

The traffic flow has been particularly bad today, Sunday, with cars at times taking more than five hours to cross into Spain. The Government understands that the usual average number of cars crossing into Spain is between 150-300 every half an hour. The average number of cars crossing into Spain today Sunday was between 30 - 60 an hour.

This has been going on for a few days now, but I have never known Sundays to be a problem before.

Seemingly there were plenty of queues yesterday of up to five or six hours.

Don't blame them, they were acting on the orders of the government. It is in retaliation for the Gibraltar police once again harassing Spanish fishing boats.

Hard to believe grown men can be so childish! This isn't helping anyone!

You are right..it really is about time they sorted this problem out once and for all. History versus Geography...same situation in many places round the world.

Spain needs to accept that they gave Gibraltar to Britain back in 1713.

Mind you it's a bit like giving planning permission for houses and then changing the rules, which Spain is good at.

Britannia waives the rules too, when it suits her.

It will never be resolved without a bit of compromise from both sides.

Why on earth does the UK need to compromise, Spain wants something that doesn't belong to them, they gave it away. The UK is OK with the way things are. Even ignoring the legality of the argument, I fail to see why Spain wants to force it's will on a people that have voted by nearly 100% they want absolutely nothing to do with Spain, the UK and Gib are perfectly happy with the status quo, (I can feel a joke coming!) It's only Spain that isn't. Spain is billy no mates, Gib, the Catalans, the Basques want nothing to do with it.

Really, which government are you talking about?

The UK has 122 women out of 650 MPs and only 4 out of 29 cabinet ministers.

Spain does a bit better with 124 out of 350 diputados but only 4 out of 14 cabinet ministers.

Gibraltar has just one woman out of 10 ministers - she is the Minister for Equality (!)

Sorry, but that's just the attitude that will keep the stalemate going for another hundred years!

I ask this in EVERY single thread about Gib, what about Spains' territories? Surely they should hand everything back that isn't geographically speaking, part of Spain?

Ok then ...Spanish government..another cog in Team Nobel Peace Prize along with their border piggies...

long may they continue to "harass" the invading maritime rapists, a civilised police force protects it's citizens and territory...not inconvenience them like the Guardia seem intent on doing on a daily basis
