by Cristina Cavilla

A Spanish police officer who was caught red-handed illegally fishing Bluefin tuna in British waters fled from Gibraltar’s police because he did not recognise their jurisdiction, the Magistrates Court was told yesterday.

I read the paper edition in the Garrison Library this morning.
The Spaniard immediately after the incident wrote a letter of apology to the Royal Gibraltar Police and in court he pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

He was fined £800.

How cheeky. Another example of Gibraltarian greed. Hogging all the world's bluefin to themselves, and then having the audacity to arrest any outsider who attempts to get a few of their own.

I am waiting for Fred to post the details of the charges and fines applied to those Gibraltarians who were responsible for catching the confiscated fish he recently referred to.

A London court has ruled that a Gibraltar Government-owned company is entitled to nearly £10m in claims arising from legal disputes related to the construction of Waterport Terraces.

The judgement means Gibraltar Residential Properties Limited [GPRL] can now chase the claims in the Madrid court handling the liquidation of Gibralcon 2004 SA, the company that built the estate.
