Getting married in Spain/Canaries
Hi guys
Just a quick question about getting married in Spain or the Canaries.
My sister in law is thinking of getting married out there. She's an Irish citizen her fiancé is a US citizen.
People have told her that she can just come over on holiday and get married but websites we've looked at for her say that they have to be resident for 40 days before the licence can be issued?
She's also considering Portugal so I'll post on that forum too.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me please and confirm which is correct.

Forgot to add she's resident in Ireland and he's resident in the States
