Hi all,
On average, how long do your gas bottles last for? Someone here told me around 2 months but I find it hard to believe I can get 2 months of Gas(hot water and gas hob only, electric oven) for 11 Euros every 2 months

Our next door neighbours have an oven and hob and have a delivery every couple of months, but at the end of the day it just depends on how much you are going to use it!

We use one a month in the summer but more in the winter.
We have calor gas fires one bottles lasts about 2 weeks.
It depends whether you have a bath or shower.
It's still a lot cheaper than the UK though

We use ours for hot water only (there are two of us in the house), during the summer one bottle lasts about a month, during the colder months about three weeks. We obviously use more when we have visitors.

we had a new Junkers one fitted last year - its excellent on consumption and cant even remember when I last changed the bottle
but probably lasts a couple of months at a guess

yes as JDR says it will also depend on your water heater (and the settings) - one with an electronic ignition is best (then the pilot light only comes on when you are using the hot water)

We have now been resident in Spain for 10 months and believe it or not have only bought 3 new gas bottles in that time, and haven't even started using one of those! We don't use it for heating the water as we swapped our old gas boiler for an electric water heater, but we do use it for cooking and for a calor gas heater in the winter. Shows how much cooking I do, doesn't it?
I can't believe how cheap it is either, I am well under my estimated budget per month for gas, and well within it for electric and water too.

Well, I'm not sure what we're doing wrong then!?
There are two of us, and we use gas for all our cooking and hot water.
We only ever shower (couldn't imagine waiting the week it would take to run a bath!)
Our gas bottles only last about 3 weeks!
Similar length of time for the gas heater, although in the depths of winter I'm sure they only last a couple of weeks?

I'm sure that the temp has an effect on how long the bottles last.
Maybe due to the viscosity of the Liqiuid gas contained?
They always seem last far longer in the summer than the winter even though we use the cooker and hot water about the same all year round.

You can squeeze an extra feww days by shaking the bottle or laying it down. ;-))

Get the other one to shake the bottle, and it usually lasts long enough to rinse the soap off!

It's a FAGOR.
We do adjust it in the summer, otherwise we just can't get cold enough water for a shower

Thanks for the tip, but we're in a rented house at the moment, and can't really be bothered to do anything about the water heater!
Hopefully it won't be too long before our house is built, and we can move on.
