I think you will find it starts on the 30th and lasts until at least the 9th of April. So that people are still off over Easter which starts on the Friday.

So if I have this right, the Uk is in front of Spain as we are already closed except for the essential trades. As there are no shops other than food, chemists and the odd delivery places for food. Even the banks have reduced their hours to 10am to 2pm and are allowing one in one out only. In our little town centre Boots and the CoOp, the local Butchers and greengrocers are the only places open.

Im a service engineer for a machinery manufacturer and we are only going to those companies who are in the food, medical and hygiene sectors. I did 2 jobs last week both breakdowns, as opposed to the 6 or so I would normally do in a week. No service, no surveys, no customer trials etc.

It's difficult to say. Since I can't leave the house I can't really tell what's going on outside here in Madrid. I think a lot of the non-essential trades in Spain had been closed anyway, and people had been relying on online shopping. But now it seems you'll only be able to buy essentials online. AFAIK you are still allowed to leave the house once a day in the UK, whereas in Spain you can't leave your house at all, unless it's to work, walk the dog or buy some food or medicines.

The new measures will restrict the movement of residents in Spain for work purposes apart from those employed in the sectors of foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, veterinarians, opticians, hygiene products, the press, fuels for the automotive sector, tobacconists, IT and telecommunications vendors, pet food, internet vendors and dry cleaners.
