Default Furniture stores around Javea

Hello, we have recently purchased a villa in Javea, & want to start replacing some of the furniture we inherited. We have looked at a few stores in Javea, Teulada & Benitachell, & a few in Denia but can't say we were bowled over by any. Does anyone have a favourite store which also supply good old fashioned service!!

There is a very large furniture store in Benissa, on the left just after entering the town from the north. As I write I cannot recall the name but we bought all our furniture from there when we first moved into Javea in 1985. Their range was very considerable and the attention from the staff was first rate. Of course that was 30 years ago but at least it would be worth a try! On the other hand there were few stores of its kind then, whilst now there are lots but, as you infer, not all are very good. There is also a large store just north of Gata on the N332 which would be worth investigating. I suppose it depends on your taste and budget.

Thank you, that's really helpful. We will try the Benissa Store & try to find the Gata shop, I wonder if that's Marina Mobles. We did find Rossi Mobles in Gata a nice shop, the lady was so nice. My Spanish isn't brilliant, but she understood what we wanted. We found Marques Mobles in a Benitachel fabulous, we bought our sofas there, but their bedroom furniture was just too 'modern' for us. I must say the service we have had so far from the shops we've bought from has been superb! We are looking forward to using our villa, & getting to know the area. Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

The shop in Benissa is called 'Martinez', if I recall correctly, and we bought a lot of furniture there 10 years ago. Looks like it is still open, but not sure what stock they have

Marina Mobles on the N332 between Gata and Ondara. It's a huge warehouse with massive amount of stock covering all price ranges.

When we moved out to Javea 11 years ago we had the same problem. In the end we bought in UK and shipped it out and it worked out cheaper (furniture then in Spain was not cheap but maybe things have changed ). The place in Benissa does have some good stuff and if it's a couple of items you want then it is worth considering but as for Michaels, it seemed to be full of stuff that no one wanted or would be likely to.

We recently purchased some garden/conservatory furniture from the Siesta group at Gata.

Excellent service and free delivery at the time and day agreed. They also sell lounge furniture.

It may be a bit too far but there is a furniture store just south of Oliva on the N332 called La Vila. They have quite a large selection. We are currently looking for allweather garden set (sofa and chairs) for the terrace if anyone has any ideas. (but not chocolate brown)

For what it's worth I did not think much of the stuff in Marina Mobles.

We too are heading back to Javea and within days. When we were last there we ventured into the shop that is run or was run at that time by an English couple. That was in 2013. We are now dumping it for the return. You must make of that what you will.

Then as one leaves Jesus Pobre for Ondarra there is a traditional Spanish furniture store on the left hand side.

Again on the golf club road to Benitachell we are going back to the Spanish run furniture store on the left hand side. We like both the furniture and one of the owners. Most helpful.

sorry that shop was at Gatos and we are now disposing of the furniture. Could not really identify whether it was leather or otherwise! It turned out otherwise.

Oh dear, looks like we may have lots of fun then shopping! Thank you everyone for all your help/advice, I will let you know how we get on! Before we venture out we have to get a hole knocked through the villa to put a ventilation grill in! This is because Repsol won't put the contract into our names because they say there is no ventilation to the gas fire! The fire has a glass front on it, & is housed in the chimney which is huge! Then of course we've got the alarm man coming out to reset the sensors! Don't hold much hope out there, they've done it once & the trees stil set them off. Anybody out there tried to get money refunded for products that don't work/ not for purpose??
