Smile Freight Forwarding - From Cadiz to Heulva?

Hi,

Can anybody out there recommend any companies that will help me organise to get a container of a ship due to land in Cadiz and get it moved to a town near Heulva.

What I am looking for is the following:
1.) A company that will ensure the cargo container (40ft) is loaded off the ship
2.) Put on a truck
3.) Taken to the destination specified

I also assume that there will be some customs/administrative paperwork that needs to be completed.

If anybody knows anybody that offers this type of service it would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Charlie

Well firstly the haulier would normally have nothing to do with getting the container off the ship as thats down to the port authorities. Depending on the terms of shipment you may be responsible for the handling costs for this.

You dont say where the ship has come from, so cant comment on the customs documentation.

You will need a haulier who has (preferably) a 40' skeletel unit trailer, or failing that a flatbed with twistlock facilities, and depending on the weight it may have to be triaxle.

I suggest your best course of action, unless someone knows a heavy haulier, is to pop down to the docks and take a few telephone numbers off the trucks there.

Thank's Mitzyboy,

I forgot to mention that the cargo is coming from China. I was simply looking for a company who could handle the whole transfer for me. I've written to a few freight forwarders on the internet and I'm still awating replies. I'm a trott from Cadiz but I might have to take the trip.

Oh OK
Well unless you have a preference certificate which is valid you will need to pay Customs import duties and IVA on the value of the goods, freight and insurance. You will need to pay a customs agent to clear the goods for you, and depending on your terms of shipment you will have to pay the haulage & LO/LO (lift charges). I used to bring loads of stuff into the UK from China & Hong Kong.

Heres a couple, but if you google "Agentes de aduanas en cadiz" there are quite a few more. A good agent will outlay your charges for you, and know hauliers who will be able to deliver for you

Great Stuff, Many Thank's. I was scratching my head looking for this. Do these contacts speak English. I'm OK with Spanish but could be better. I'll also do a search on the net as you indicated.

Thank's for saving me a bucked load of time.!

I dont know about language. In my experience, most International Freight companies will have at least one English speaker.

Spoke to the first reference, absolutly useless. She simply didn't want to know, said she was too busy and gave me her email address in a flash and hung up.

Crazy level of customer service in Spain. I continue to be dissapointed more and more with each encounter.

I'll keep on plugging away.

If there are any customs agents out there, give me a call!

Wonderful! Obviously better things to do with her time.
I should go through the google list though, you will get to one that will help. I doubt there are many people on here who have a reference for a customs brokere in Cadiz
