Flashing V16 beacons for the car

It’s just scaremongering again. You must not use a phone if you have a pacemaker etc.
I have a pacemaker and recently had an MRI scan. I didn’t explode in the scanner.
I’m certainly not worried about something no more magnetic than a decent fridge magnet!

Ridiculous. Makes you wonder if your window would be in smithereens if you left a 5 Euro note on the seat...

AI says (I am not claiming its right...because I have no idea)
'No, not every new law in Spain requires approval from the European Union. Spain is a sovereign state that passes the majority of its domestic legislation autonomously. EU approval or alignment is generally only necessary for laws impacting EU-wide regulations, directives, or single market policies.
Key details:
'No, not every new law in Spain requires approval from the European Union. Spain is a sovereign state that passes the majority of its domestic legislation autonomously. EU approval or alignment is generally only necessary for laws impacting EU-wide regulations, directives, or single market policies.
Key details:
- National Sovereignty: Spain passes laws (e.g., in housing, education, or criminal law) that do not need EU oversight.
- EU Alignment: Laws affecting trade, agriculture, immigration, or data protection must adhere to EU directives.
- Legal Review: The EU can review Spanish laws to ensure they do not violate European treaties, but they do not pre-approve every piece of local legislation.
- Examples: Changes in Spanish rental laws for 2025 or immigration reforms are driven by Spanish policy needs.'

According to this, the EU's concern is if the baliza's technical requirements constitute a restriction of trade in the single market (by being a device that favours Spanish manufacturers over other EU manufacturers).

My wife has had to regularly drive some distances at night along rural roads. She is not happy (and I agree) that if using the V16 means her location can be seen (seen meaning location, not meaning physically seen) by anyone, she'd prefer not to use it.
I know that there is no details of anything other than there is a vehicle at the place broken down/accident, but nevertheless, she admits she would feel quite vulnerable.
She still has on older unconnected one in the car and would accidentally use that one instead.
