Hi,

I'm planning to do some fishing in the Med off Alicante, are there Mackeral around similar to around the UK waters?

Thanks for any info.

I spent 6 years sailing around the Med and often trailed a fishing line with a shiny lure on it.

I caught no fish and 4 powerboats!

Down here on the Atlantic - tons of Mackeral, we eat them or use them for bait..... we just spin for them off the beach or rocks ....

yeh ive caught a few mackeral here in the costa del sol,big ones too, ofc,be careful if you decide to bottom fish tho instead, the weever fish(kind of a light couloured mackeral) give you a bad sting from thier spikes, hurts like hell for 3 hours or so,if you do get stung put the stung part in the hottest water you can stand,it helps a bit
