Default First ITV notification

"Skippy 2" my Renault Kangoo is almost 2 years old.

So he needs his first ITV.

So the question:

For the first ITV, do you get a notification via post, or should you just turn up at the ITV station?

I know you get postal notifications for subsequent ITVs, but what about the first...? As so far nothing has arrived yet for Skippy's 2nd birthday early February......

Cannot remember what happened when "Skippy 1" was due for his first ITV....hence the question.

TIA

You might get a notification but you don't need one. Make an appointment online. If you don't you may have to wait some time.

Skippy is a two seater, so classed as a commercial vehicle, so it is after two years, then every year...from what I have been told in the past...

the date of the expiry of the current ITV is on the paperwork for the vehicle, more reliable than what someone else says. I bought a 0 km car from the main dealer but only had 2 years until the first ITV, mates insisted it was 3 or 4 years

I know it is 2 years, as I got done by the GC in Skippy1 for no ITV after 2 1/2years, as I said it was 4, and they said it was a commercial vehicle, so 2 years...which I now know to be true!

I have never received a notice by post, and the address is in a village with a sporadic delivery.

I bought a secondhand car in October, in December I received a certificate from the DGT with the car details/Owner, Date of ITV and details of the Insurance. Btw I have always had the ITV sticker on my windscreen and although I have been in many queues at a check point, I have never been stopped etc.
