I think the whole thing has been agreed and paid for previously to celebrate the Fallas which was cancelled due to the Pandemic. So the artists for the pyrotechnics and the statues along with the province agreed to delay the event until closer to the summer. That way the effort, the creativity and the humour could be celebrated at this time. Minimal extra expense but with a BANG!

I should add that there is the pageant of the Fallas Queens both minor and major and all the finery and pomp associated with it. Part of the traditions of the area and a major contributor to the local economy. The efforts that the local people put into the event are great and the prestige of taking part is immeasurable. Did I mention the fireworks?
