Default :: Ferry Services ::Majorca to Spain Mainland ?

Hi experts,

As some of you may be aware soon will be settling in Majorca , Bringing with me a lot of my worldly posessions ..

On the removals forums is many discussions on moving to Spain mainland , however Majorca isnt covered !

As a idea as to additional times and costs anyone have experiences of how easy it is to get to and fro Mainland Spain to the Majorca island ?
Costs of ferry ?
How often they go to and from ?
How long it takes ?

this is very important to me as i have been advised that a specialist store is on the mainland of Spain , which specialises in quality DVD sales , and experts in copying of old Videos onto DVD formats . As i have some rare old videos such as "Trout Fishing in the Peak District (in colour)" and "A rare Sneaky Peaky Peep at the Peak District" and a load of other masterpeices to be done .. This is vital to my life in Majorca .

I never quite know when to take you seriously, and this is no exception. On the offchance that this isn't a wind up, ferries from Denia run to and from Majorca but I can tell you they are very expensive and its cheaper to Fly. Palma / Valencia was £28 with Air Berlin last week. I understand the ferry is up near £100

Ferrys are at least once a day depending on time of year.

Buy yourself a DVD recorder, connect your VHS and do them yourself, its cheaper then the ferry. ;-)

My questions are always serious Mitzy , Just like to explain the importance of needing the answers to the questions

Prefer the idea of hopping back from majorca to mainland with the car , to then explore mainland and bring back loads of shopping or whatever ..
Flying is ok but then would have to mess around taxi or hire a car and the suchlike to get back to the coast..

Also if decided to bring my Uk car with me would drive it down so require Ferry. Likewise if the removal firm bring my stuff over assume they drive to south Spain then use ferry to Mainland ..

Valencia airport is actually in the city of Valencia, which is on the coast. However, there are major building works going on at the moment so it does take time getting a car sorted.

I can happily announce that the new airport car park at Valencia is now open so you don't need to walk to Car Park 4 any more.

Things seem to be coming together slowly, as indeed they need to be to be ready for the Americas Cup

PS. BTW, whoever put the directional arrows down in the car park was clearly on some kind of mind bending drug at the time .... many people driving around looking confused ... no where to go :-)

Getting back to the original question Pete - ferries run to Majorca from Barcelona too.

Just returned from a great weekend in Barcelona and our hotel was in Port Vel (the old port). I think there is a daily service to Majorca.

Big Pete : Transmediterranea and Balearia both leave Barcelona at 23 hrs.I think they arrive at about 6 o'clock in the morning.
Balearia leaves Palma 12:30 and gets into Barcelona at 19:30 ...at least that is what it says for March and April.
